Top Questions Answered

Got a question? You’re not alone! We’ve gathered the answers to our most commonly asked questions below to help you plan with ease and peace of mind.

We want everyone to get in on the fun! KA Camps are open to children from any school and our experienced team is on hand to make sure every child settles in quickly and feels right at home.

KA Camps is managed and school-led by Kelvinside Academy. The Camp Programme content has been organised with input from our teaching specialists, ensuring activities are well-structured, fun and age appropriate.

Delivery is supported by both our teaching staff as well as a team of seasonal staff employed directly by the School. We also work with social enterprise company Stitch the Gap who run the sewing camps.

KA Camps are available for children aged 5–16, depending on the programme. Age ranges are clearly stated for each activity.

Browse all Camps here. Within each Camp the Register button will allow you to buy 'tickets' to weeks/days of Camp. You will then be required to fill in a Medical and Permissions form and make payment before your order will be confirmed.

When completing registration, you will consent to our KA Camps Booking Conditions which can be viewed here. This includes our cancellation policy.

Availability to book ad hoc days will vary depending on the programme. Multi-Sports, and Rugby offer a daily booking option but others are only offered as a full-week programme, as some build towards a final outcome or have limited places. Please check each camp programme for details.

KA Camps programmes have varied start and finish times so please check the timings for your chosen week. Where a camp runs from 10am to 4pm there may be wrap-around care available – see below.

We are delighted to introduce wrap-around care for some camps, making our childcare more convenient than ever for busy families.

From 6 July to 7 August, we’ll be open from 9am to 5pm, giving you that extra flexibility around the core camp day (10am–4pm). During the additional hour before and after camp, children will be well looked after with relaxed activities and art supplies to keep them happily engaged. When buying your camp ticket(s) there will be the option to add on a wrap-around daily ticket for a small fee.
While the overall structure is confirmed in the camp outline, some elements are kept flexible to allow sensible use of indoor and outdoor spaces. Sharing programme-specific timetables nearer to the time allows us to respond to weather conditions typical of the Scottish summer!
You will receive a programme information pack in advance, including clothing guidance, equipment needs, lunch arrangements and key contact details. Please note that we are an allergy aware camp zone so please ensure that no nuts or nut products are brought to camp in lunch boxes or snacks.
We recognise the important role that mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic devices play in many children and young people’s lives today, and the security and ease of communication that they provide. However, KA Camps is a mobile phone-free environment to promote active participation, creativity and positive social interaction throughout the day. Staff manage all communication and contact during sessions, with clear procedures in place should families need to get in touch.
Programmes run subject to minimum numbers. Families are notified in advance if a programme is not going ahead.
No – we are not able to accept Tax-Free Childcare vouchers.
